Site preparation means getting your property ready to build on and enjoy! This process usually starts off with clearing the land of all trees and underbrush. In those areas that will have a structure built over them, or driveways and parking areas, all organic materials must be removed completely. Then the land is graded and if necessary replaced with enough structural fill dirt to reach an elevation high enough to divert water away from the building pad to ensure a structurally sound foundation. This water diverting is usually accomplished by using diversion ditches or "swales" to avoid structural failure.
